Commissioning yacht electronics
Fundamental to a successful installation is the commissioning phase. This is where we check and test every system on board and make any necessary adjustments so that the yacht is ready for sea trials.
Our detailed commission plan means our team can work systematically through each system.
Osprey’s Technical team have many years combined racing and offshore sailing experience, as well as being expert engineers. They understand the challenges and conditions yacht crews will encounter once the boat is in full service.
Our commissioning process is designed to work in close collaboration with the yacht navigator and engineers. The process includes:
familiarisation and training with each new system
establishing operating and maintenance procedures
demonstrating the capability each system offers to get the most out of it
Post-commissioning support
Once the yacht is at sea our service does not end there. Training is core to the commissioning phase and beyond, and we aim to ensure the Captain and crew are getting the best of our the systems we have installed.
Following sea trials we can provide further commissioning and training and are always on hand for advice and support.
In addition, we offer our clients the option for our 24/7 remote support through our own Vessel Fusion service. This means our team, and any specific system suppliers, can be directly connected to the boat when she is at sea or in anywhere in the World.
Vessel Fusion allows us to take over the electronics remotely to run diagnostics, maintenance and make adjustments.
